Visiting Frankenstein’s Castle

This last weekend I went to Frankenstein’s Castle (Burg Frankenstein) in Bavaria, Germany.

Now THIS looks like straight out of a Frankenstein movie. :)

Now THIS looks like straight out of a Frankenstein movie. 🙂

Yes, it’s a real castle: built before the year 1250.

No, there is no Frankenstein monster there. (Sadly.)

Yes, legit lords and knights lived there back in the day.

No, there were no tours, restricted areas; we were free to wander/climb.

Yes, several weddings were taking place at the tiny courtyard church. (Uhhh…Frankenstein’s Bride anyone???)

No, it was not scary. Creepy, yes. Scary, no.

Yes, we climbed around the tower, on the wall, and…pretended to sword fight.

My friend took this awesome shot of sword fighting on the wall.

It was the best day!

Life is oh-so-good!
